[Lvfs-announce] Managing many devices on the LVFS

Hi all,

One of the common complaints from users is the fact that updates are
available on the vendor website before they're pushed on the LVFS.
Sometimes this is just because the vendor has pushed the same update
out to a dozen or more devices successfully, but forgotten to push
just one model out of embargo or testing!

To help, I've created https://fwupd.org/lvfs/devices/status which
shows the version number of all updates on the LVFS uploaded by your
vendor group. It's most useful if you have "qa" ACL for your vendor
group, i.e. the "Read only access to all firmware uploaded to your
group" option on your vendor manager user page. Without the qa ACL you
will only be able to see the firmware you uploaded yourself.

On the new page you can filter by category, e.g. only showing firmware
with the embedded controller category. Feedback and suggestions
welcome off list. Please remember the LVFS is designed to be easy to
use and if there's something that's causing you unnecessary work
please let me know as other vendors are probably having exactly the
same problem.

In related news, the LVFS will soon be moving from the little VM in
AMS to a proper scalable architecture managed by the Linux Foundation.
This hopefully means we can provide more of a 24/7 "uptime SLA" as I
won't be responsible for actual sysadmin responsibilities (which is a
good thing). When the migration is fully tested and we have a date
planned I'll email again. On changeover day the downloads for users
will continue like normal, but the ODM/OEM logins will be unavailable
for several hours.
