Hi all, The LVFS will be unavailable for a period of scheduled downtime -- we're up= grading the RDS PostgreSQL version and to do so means backing up, stopping,= upgrading and then re-starting the upgraded instance. We've reserved a 3h downtime window for vendors, and for the majority of th= at time the database will be read-only -- so clients can continue to downlo= ad firmware. During that time, users (or robots of vendors) will not be abl= e to upload new firmware, move firmware from different remotes or modify th= e firmware in any way. Any action requiring an ACL will be met with a "perm= ission denied" error as all user ACLs will be suspended automatically. Addi= tionally the workers will be inhibited and so any scheduled tasks will not = run. There also will be a visible warning message on the user-dashboard inf= orming users that the server is in a scheduled maintenance window. For less than 10 minutes of that 3 hour window user downloads will also be = unavailable. We've tested the upgrade of the database on a snapshot of production and we= 're fairly confident that everything will go smoothly, but we've allocated = enough time just in case the upgraded database instance has problems and we= have to roll back to the old version. I'll send another email when the out= age is complete. Please distribute to ODMs and partners as required. Thanks. Richard.
