I tested with the `linux-mainline` package, currently on version 7.2rc5-1

# cat /etc/modprobe.d/snd-usb-audio.conf
options snd-usb-audio quirk_flags=1038:2232:mixer_get_cur_broken

That seems to have "fixed" it.
