Self-nomination for Cong Wang

Dear LF TAB,

I am running for the Linux Foundation Technical Advisory Board to
bridge the gap between the Linux kernel community and academic
research. As a kernel maintainer and eBPF subsystem contributor, I've
witnessed firsthand how cutting-edge research often remains siloed in
academia while the kernel community tackles similar challenges
independently. This disconnect slows innovation and wastes collective
effort.

Through my work developing Multikernel Linux and developing
KernelScript, I've seen the transformative potential when academic
insights meet practical kernel development. My experience spans both
worlds: maintaining production kernel code while exploring research
concepts in multikernel architectures, eBPF optimization, and system
design.

On the TAB, I would focus on:
- Establishing channels for regular academic-industry collaboration
- Helping researchers understand kernel development constraints and priorities
- Translating promising research into actionable kernel improvements
- Creating feedback loops so academia addresses real-world kernel challenges

The Linux kernel's continued leadership requires embracing innovation
from all sources. By fostering stronger academic partnerships, we can
accelerate development, attract fresh talent, and ensure the kernel
remains at the forefront of operating systems research and practice.
