The host environment should not have any impact for this kind of issue.

Are you using the correct command and are you looking at
the right config file?

For enabling examples in a test-pkg run, you should use
commands like:

cat >my.config <<EOF
BR2_PACKAGE_LIBCPPCONNMAN=y
BR2_PACKAGE_LIBCPPCONNMAN_EXAMPLE=y
EOF
utils/test-pkg -a -p libcppconnman -c my.config

The generated config of a failing builds should be in:
"~/br-test-pkg/bootlin-microblazeel-uclibc/.config"
rather than in "./.config".
