All, Would appreciate any pointers on where to look. Hardware is AR9280 in Ubiquiti devices. This is a mesh-olsr network on top of adhoc with stations out to 20km. It occurs on 10mhz and 5mhz channel widths (and probably 20mhz too). Here's the sequence when going deaf: 1) ANI ofdm level floats between 7 to 9 with error rates pushing up to 5000/sec. 2) missed beacons eventually leading to "beacon is officially stuck"--we expect some interference, lots of adhoc station beacons (~20 stations * 10/sec), and lot's of OLSR broadcasts (3/second), and sometimes in 5mhz channel. 3) ANI stops, then Starts, and most of the time goes back to step #1, but occasionally it continues here: 4) Error rates suddenly 200/sec or less. Thus, OFDM level steps straight down to and floats between 0 and 1. Some of the weaker signal neighbor stations no longer connected. 5) The environment appears pristine never to trigger any calibrations on its own. Manually triggering calibrations, e.g. adjacent channel scan and back, kicks it back to hearing everything. So what possible setting isn't getting reset everytime with the ANI stop/start that leaves it deaf? It's like the noise floor suddenly raised above most of all the signals, including many we really care about. Would appreciate advice on where to focus effort? This might be a desired feature if locking onto an AP, but with adhoc, we want to still communicate with both the strong and weak neighbors.
