Err, that is a bit concerning, given also the problem I faced with older
boards and rather... historic firmware versions. You have upstream-first
for the kernel, why not yet for firmware? Specifically U-Boot with its
missing stable branches will cause some challenges when requiring
downstream for features but latest upstream for security.
