Is large object promisors currently usable (and where can I check the status of them)?

I'm really interested in large object promisors as a replacement for Git LFS. I've been trying to figure out what the current status of LOP is, and I can't really seem to figure it out. Can I use them now or do I have to wait a bit? What's the best way to keep track of the progress of this feature
