Listen, thank you for the complete answer. It really made a difference.

After reading more about this subject I did two things; put my old 486DX
back to life and I bought a Linux asm book. Both should keep me from
destroying to many things. ;-)

I am left with just one more question, What's the best asm interface to
start with ? at&t, nasm or edlinas ?
