I have a G3 iBook running YDL 2.3, which I configured at home to use an apple airport base station (their wireless hub) on a DSL connection. Now I'm elsewhere with a dialup. OSX on the same machine, whose wireless data I copied manually into YDL, still keeps the option of using dialup, and works fine (except of course for the fact that it's a pretty pale imitation of linux, and subjects me to the One And Only Apple User Interface (OAOAUI -- a howl in the desert to me, whatever it may be to apple addicts). But the YDL configuration, following the manual and the update to it in a ydl.net howto, put the dhcp data into bootup and made it default. Is that why I get nowhere (i.e., only as far as "initializing modem" followed by a report of failure) trying to use kppp a/o wvdial to get it to make do with the only connection available? Is there a fix somewhere? One I can follow? Keep in mind that I have a most barely enough idea what I'm talking about to state the problem -- if I've managed that ....
