gcc 3.2.2 segfault compiling aspell

I am getting a segmentation fault when compiling aspell with gcc 3.2.2 on 
a gentoo system (Duron/KT133). 

Can anyone help me? Searching on google shows some postings on debina 
mailing lists for the same problem, but I did not see any solutions.
