As the kernel requests during the boot, I report these messages. The system is Tyan S2885, 2 AMD opterons at 1.6Ghz. Linux version 2.4.24 ([email protected]) (gcc version 3.2.2 20030222 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.2-5)) #1 SMP Thu Jan 8 16:47:09 EST 2004 Additionally, top shows the following strange things: 6 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 0 bdflush 7 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 1 kupdated 8 root 18446744073709551615 -20 0 0 0 SW< 0.0 0.0 0:00 16 root 18446744073709551615 -20 0 0 0 SW< 0.0 0.0 0:00 17 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 1 kjournald [ Jan 8 17:54:02 kiev kernel: CPU1: AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 242 stepping 01 Jan 8 17:54:02 kiev kernel: Total of 2 processors activated (6363.54 BogoMIPS).Jan 8 17:54:02 kiev kernel: ENABLING IO-APIC IRQs Jan 8 17:54:02 kiev rpc.statd[2352]: Version 1.0.1 Starting Jan 8 17:54:02 kiev nfslock: rpc.statd startup succeeded Jan 8 17:54:02 kiev kernel: Setting 2 in the phys_id_present_map Jan 8 17:54:02 kiev kernel: ...changing IO-APIC physical APIC ID to 2 ... ok.
