Hi, I am new to this Linux SMP field. Having noticed that this linux kernel 2.6.0 has obvious improvement over SMP issue, I upgraded my kernel version on Fedora Core 1 distribution. I have a 6-cpu P-Pro server powered at 200MHz each. Right now I would like to do benchmarking on it. I would like to know how to make use of the new 2 system calls found in this kernel to bind a process to specific CPU? Previously, on kernel 2.4.22, I have created 6 threads to be run on these CPUs, each thread run on a CPU, using POSIX threads. The result is unsatisfying due to the latency caused by the swtiching over of task among CPUs. Please enlighten.
