I had compiled a new kernel 2.4.20 with the patch linux-abi-2.4.20.0.patch.gz Linux version 2.4.20 ([email protected]) (gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.3 2.96-110)) #9 SMP Fre Jun 4 07:09:17 UTC 2004 I was told to mail this message to you: In the attachmend is the hole dmesg IO APIC #2...... .... register #00: 02000000 ....... : physical APIC id: 02 .... register #01: 00178003 ....... : max redirection entries: 0017 ....... : PRQ implemented: 1 ....... : IO APIC version: 0003 WARNING: unexpected IO-APIC, please mail to [email protected] CPU0: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+ stepping 01 per-CPU timeslice cutoff: 731.38 usecs. enabled ExtINT on CPU#0 ESR value before enabling vector: 00000080 ESR value after enabling vector: 00000000 Error: only one processor found. I do not understand this message The reason why I patched linux-abi-2.4.20.0.patch is the need of using an old INFORMIX application which I was unsing in SCO-XENIX-V Do you know, what is wrong with this kernel? The kernel does work and INFORMIX does work, but I did not check the INFORMIX-Application extensive. The PC is working slow. The reason why could lay in the message:only one processor found ?? There is something wrong. Thanks for help.
