hi to everyone! i'm a newbie to the list. i'm 27yo, i come from italy and i work in a dot.com developing open source financial software with linux os. i'm about buying an old sparcstation 20 with two sm61-2 cpus (60mhz, 2mb cache), 128 (or 256) mb ram, 2x 2gb hard disk. currently, i'm told the machine runs solaris 8... obviously, i'd like it to be tux-powered. it's the first sun i'm dealing with, and my current background is only the linux-sparc howto... so, take pity on me plz! i'd like to have some good advises about the distribution to use (i know it's a very personal opinion... i thought of rh 6.2-sparc), but - mostly - i would like to know if the smp on the machine is supported (the guy who is about selling me the machine says it does, but i read somewhere - i think on a smp howto - that smp doesn't work on sun4m machines). thank you in advance, ciao guido sintoni
