Can someone tell me what versions of Linux support PGX24 graphics on a Sun Ultra 5 and how to get PGX24 working? I just got an Ultra 5, 270Mhz with a 21” Sun GDM-5010PT monitor. I installed RedHat SPARC/Linux 6.2 on it. It’s running good except the graphics is poor quality. I think it may be running PGX graphics in 8 bit mode. I ran Xconfigurator and PCI probing finds: PCI Entry: ATI 3D Rage Pro 215GP Xserver: Mach64 Under monitor setup the Sun GDM-5010PT monitor is not listed so I selected the option for Sun 21-inch N3. Xconfigurator set the default video mode to: Color Depth: 32 bits per pixel Resolution: 1152x864 I have read that Solaris allows changing PGX graphics mode between 8 bit mode or 24 bit mode. Is there a way to change graphics mode from 8 bit to 24 bit running Linux? Thanks for helping, Ken __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus – Powerful.
