This doesn't make sense to me. I am a Thunderbird user and I don't recall having any problem. What do you mean by "answering twice"? Did you change some setting in Thunderbird as well as change the configuration of the mailing list, perhaps? Could you have an extension which is causing the problem? Are you just not wanting to see your own posts, so might be interested in the 'notmetoo' tunable?
