[PATCH 0/3] testing/next: random fixes in case useful (gitlab, arm tcg, macos)

I'm off for the next two weeks but I thought it would be worth posting
these in case they were useful. Feel free to cherry pick what is
needed and I'll deal with the rest when I'm back.
