Well, that's false.

Everything else sounds really good, but don't become an apologist for
everything that everyone does in Perl. Not every Perl programmer,
author, publisher, and so on have the purest intentions that this
statement implies, and Perl has certainly been pushed into areas where
it was not the best tool. Plenty of people advocate and hype Perl
simply because it is the only language they know or have ever used.
