Well . . . This box is essentially an "if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it"  
machine, which is why it's still running RedHat 7.3.  I have, however,  
upgraded all the essential software, including the kernel.  It's just  
that I'm getting hammered with spam and spamassassin and amavisd-new  
seem to want a newer version of perl for some of the necessary and  
optional perl modules. :-( Otherwise, I'd happily like the old version.

Thanks Chas.  I'll dig a little deeper.  I know eventually I have to  
replace that box with a new one or at least with a newer operating  
system but mostly it works.  I am a web designer and very part time  
sysadmin. This box is colocated and I use it for my email and to host  
clients.  I am not anxious to endure periodic service outages while I  
spend several weeks rebuilding the functionality of this box. :-(
