perl execution error

Hi All,

 

I have written one Perl script. Till today I used to run/execute it
properly but suddenly what has happened is it is throwing some strange
error.

 

Following is the exact steps I am doing.

 

I have added the path of the perl script in the $PATH variable. The path
is /usr/tools/deployment/scripts/merge

 

merge is the actual perl script. The output of echo $PATH is

If I run the command perl /usr/tools/deployment/scripts/merge then it is
absolutely executing fine but my query is that why it is not working if
I only type merge because till yesterday it was executing fine.

 

If I run only merge then it throws me following error.

 

/usr/tools/deployment/scripts/merge: =0: command not found

/usr/tools/deployment/scripts/merge: =0: command not found

/usr/tools/deployment/scripts/merge: use: command not found
