the state of things so far

Hi there,

Okay. I've been subscribed for a couple of days and seen no traffic. 
I have a few preliminary questions relating to the list:

    * Is anyone else subscribed to this list? I only know 
      about myself and Uri, so far. Heads up! :-)

    * Is there an archive? I couldn't find one via lists.perl.org,
      and a google search turned up nothing. Hence the question 
      above.

Further questions (if answers to either of the above is 'yes'):

    * How advanced is the project? My understanding is that
      up to now, Uri has been maintaining the books site on 
      his own hosts, but is too busy with his own commitments
      to do much with it at the moment

    * What is the status WRT books.perl.org? Would perl.org
      host it? Who should be contacted about this? Who should
      do the contacting? :-)

    * Does anyone have any particular opinions about
      exactly how this should turn out, and how it 
      should progress?

Hope this is not too demanding, I am hoping to hit the ground
running, etc. I'd like to see something up fairly quickly...
