Good point; but now I think about it, that list pointer should be
in the RFC itself.  Something like "This RFC was first posted to
[email protected] in message
<a href="http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00599.html">&lt;[email protected]&gt;</a>."

That lets people locate the (likely) head of the RFC's discussion.
