message board system

This is somewhat of a followup/reply to the "Glad I'm not on bootstrap".

Instead of using an email system to send info out to all of us, why not use 
a message board system.  A message board would be much easier to keep track 
of threads, who replied to what, and of course would eliminate our full 
inboxes.  Instead of everyone keeping email messages as archives, we could 
simply archive the topic posts on the board.

I've been a web developer and admin of a professional, heavily visited 
board for about 5 years and would be willing to install, configure and help 
manage a perl6 discussion board.   I'll even house it on my server if need be.

I'm willing to hear any pro's/con's or concerns regarding this idea.  I 
joined this mailing list only two days ago and was really surprised at the 
amount of messages posted daily.  I would really love to have all these 
great ideas kept in a more readable form.
