Problem Report:

perl version - v5.04
Operating Sys.-  dec_osf (Compaq's Tru64 unix v.5.0a)

Details:
------
A perl script, written in Perl v5.04  core dumps when run on a v50a NFS
client.
However, this perl script executes with no problem if the mount of NFS
is made
with vers=2 (that is, using NFS v2 instead of NFS v3.)

NFS v3 features 64-bit file access, and performance improvements.
Specifically, NFS v3 returns 64-bit file handles, whereas NFS v2
returns 32-bit file handles.

I did a "dbx vmunix core" on the files , immediately got a segmentation
fault.
I suspect a 64 bit/32 bit incompatibility between NFS V3 and
the Perl interpreter.
