installing XML-LibXSLT

[~]% perl -MCPAN -e shell

[...]

I ran the following command a couple times - got a similar error
twice:

cpan> install M/MS/MSERGEANT/XML-LibXSLT-1.57.tar.gz
Running make for M/MS/MSERGEANT/XML-LibXSLT-1.57.tar.gz
  Is already unwrapped into directory /Users/arided/.cpan/build/XML-LibXSLT-1.57
  Makefile.PL returned status 512
Running make test
  Make had some problems, maybe interrupted? Won't test
Running make install
  Make had some problems, maybe interrupted? Won't install

I can confirm that it did unpack, but I don't know why it won't build -
here's the file listing.

[XML-LibXSLT-1.57]% ls
Changes  LibXSLT.pm  MANIFEST  benchmark.pl  perl-libxml-mm.c  t          typemap
Driver   LibXSLT.xs  README    example       perl-libxml-mm.h  testcases  Makefile.PL

Let me note that I haven't packages using this system before, but I
did install the module Data::Denter though, so I know it should
work...

However, it seems a little weird to me that there is no ./configure 
file listed in that directory - maybe that's just not how you do things?

Anyone with help for a perl newbie will earn my thanks...
