From Randy Kobes: ====================================================== sourceforge project is available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/cpan-search/ containing a suite of modules to set up and maintain a searchable CPAN database. This is currently being tested at <http://cpan.uwinnipeg.ca/htdocs/cpan-search.html. At present the docs might be considered minimal - if you encounter problems or bugs, or see improvements and enhancements, a mailing list is available through the sourceforge site. I'm also quite open to giving people commit access to the cvs repository, if interested. Just a word of explanation - this suite doesn't have the full functionality of the (amazing) search.cpan.org, nor is it intended to; in fact, it can be used (with a more limited functionality) on a machine that doesn't have a local CPAN mirror. Hence the project name is CPAN-Search-Lite. Although a set of example web pages (via Template-Toolkit) are in the distribution, one of the goals here is to perhaps explore other services (soap? CPAN/CPANPLUS-like tools?) that a database like this might provide. ===================================================== Thanks. -- best regards, randy -- Jarkko Hietaniemi <[email protected]> http://www.iki.fi/jhi/ "There is this special biologist word we use for 'stable'.
