Those were exactly my own thoughts; as written in my retrospective, in
fact. And no, I don’t think we could have gotten there on direct route.

Basically, while I completely understand your imperative for putting the
T::B discussion up front, it was premature to get technical without
having first established principles under which the technical decisions
ought to be taken… for which I believe it was necessary to go through
the conversations that took place on the days leading up to the river of
CPAN discussion.
