I don=E2=80=99t think that=E2=80=99s how backpan is supposed to work. =
It=E2=80=99s not much of a backup if you trust another =E2=80=9Cbackup=E2=80=
=9D to not lose data, if that makes sense.

(We have a backpan at backpan.perl.org, but I don=E2=80=99t think it has =
rsync enabled).
