Looks like a T::S issue: manual compile works:

The failing test is Time/Local.t, which is not relevant to the
current discussion.


Running under T::S still triggers the link failure that you solved:

ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: .pthread_getspecific

Is T::S playing tricks with the hints file?
