This is a LONG thread; the URL is here:
http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum7/HTML/200629.html
It boils down to the following:
1) Use the compatibility libraries, and TELL ORACLE YOU'RE USING 'EM:
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5
. /usr/i386-glibc21-linux/bin/i386-glibc21-linux-env.sh
2) Don't use the Oracle-supplied JVM; it's broken under 7.1. Instead use the
Blackdown JRE 118_v3 (I think -- our sysadmin did the install on this one).
Also check out the related discussion threads in that forum.
Anyway, it seems to be running just fine, even though all we wanted on 7.1 was
the clients; for server-side support, we wanted a stable and supported OS,
which is why we're back on 6.2.

No, no joy on that yet, either, though apparently the 0.05 release is vapor at
this point. Perhaps we'll get more info once life for Tim settles down in Eire.
I have a sneaking feeling that this is a C::Scan issue.
