RE: regex of the month (decade?)

I think I would rewrite 
[Oo]([Ff][Ff][Ii][Cc][Ee])?
as 
([Oo][Ff][Ff][Ii][Cc][Ee])? 

but, pardon my ignorance, won't an "i" at the end of the regex make it catch
either case?
