sharing & streams

Hi , 
 has anyone any idea when will ithreads extend to the point that it could share streams like socket & file handles ?
i'm currently playing around with some little socket server's and things like that but i almost always stump on the
fact that i can only share the basic types of variables. 
 btw. if anyone has a goodlooking workaround how to get the handles shared, even if only virtually , please share
the knowledge with me :D
 i have tried to play around with a solution which is based on the idea that one thread has access to a socket and
to a shared scalar and other threads may alter the shared scalar, according to which the socket owner will take
some actions, eg. read & write, but this is kindof slow and memory exhausting on big i/o amounts. has anyone
built other solutions ?
