What about Certified Public Accountants? I thought CPAs were granted by universities, not states. Am I wrong about that? I agree with you that some form of professional accreditation wouldn't be a bad thing, but I'm not sure that it has to be government backed. If we had some kind of "computer science guild" (ACM?), they could fill this role at least as well as any government, no? -- Chris Devers hardly a libertarian by any stretch, but willing to be a devil's advocate
