Description:
We are looking for an experienced Perl programmer with extensive
knowledge of Linux, Apache, mod_perl and MySQL to help continue the
development of our core products.  As part of the development team, you
will design, develop, debug and test code for both new and existing
systems.  You will be given a great deal of freedom to exercise your
knowledge and experience.  In return, we will expect high quality,
elegant, well engineered solutions that meet the needs of our staff and
customers and are delivered on time.

start-up.  We have a long record of delivering successful solutions to
our customers.	Our recent growth and success in the magazine
e-publishing area has required that we focus on scalability as well as
functionality.	Our Published Web Format (PWF) is based on core
technology that has been proven over many years of use.  Customers use
PWF to provide digital distribution of popular magazines (e.g.	Machine
Design, SmartMoney, Esquire, ...) to their readers.


Required skills:
    - Expert knowledge of Perl with emphasis on OOP, mod_perl, and MySQL
       integration
    - Fundamental knowledge of web application architecture, database
      design (MySQL), web servers (Apache), JavaScript, HTML
    - Experience with XML, DOMs, Schemas, and parsers
    - Experience building web user interfaces for technical
      tools/workflows
    - Working knowledge of Linux
    - Working knowledge of web application authentication and security
      methods
    - BS and 4-8 years of experience in software engineering
    - Sense of humor


Desired skills:
    - Knowledge of web server load balancing, caching and optimization
      techniques
    - Knowledge of network architecture
    - Knowledge/experience in Java, C, VBScript, DHTML, CSS
