Description:
As a Senior Perl Developer, you will play a key role in growing Empowered
Benefits- SaaS-employee benefit technology platform.  The Senior Perl
Developer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and
maintenance of an application that will import/export data files of
different formats into and out of a SaaS application. This position is
coding intensive, and will require the ability to coordinate well with a
team as well as show personal initiative, help set best
practices/standards, help lead other team members, and take ownership of
individual components of the development.


Responsibilities: 

•      
Design, develop, test, and maintenance of our EDI programs for our SaaS
application
•	Respond to and troubleshoot issues affecting EDI
programs
•	Monitoring EDI performance and related infrastructure
systems
•	Set high-level architectural standards and lead other team
members in implementing those standards
•	Set best practices for the
software development process: coding standards, testing, change management,
release planning and deployment Skills and Experience
•	Manage the
priorities of the Perl team and recommend solutions, plan of action and
validate work through collaborative daily communication/meetings with the
team  


Education/Experience:

•	BS in Computer Science, Engineering
or related technical discipline
•	PERL, OOP 5+ years of most recent
direct experience, with a focus on a senior role that worked on projects
and lead a team

Desired skills:
Skills:

•	Perl, Object Oriented Perl desired with proficiency in new
OOP frame work:  Moose, Mouse, Moo 
•	Strong SQL skills
•      
Version Control Systems: git and subversion preferred
•	A lot of
experience writing unit and regression tests desired
•	Pluses: Linux
experience,  REST like API's, Web frameworks, NoSQL
•	Detail oriented
•	Ability to work independently
•	Strong verbal and written
communication skills
•	Very communicative with leadership skills with
the ability to manage, motivate and lead a team of Perl developers with
direction from our Perl Lead
•	PERL, OOP 5+ years of most recent
direct experience, with a focus on a senior role that worked on projects
and lead a team
