Description:
Internationally recognized premier law firm is seeking a junior programmer
to work full-time in its Center City Philadelphia office.

Duties will
include, but not be limited to, retrieving data from client websites,
parsing and processing the data, handling errors and discrepancies,
maintaining library modules (almost entirely Perl), maintaining SQL Server
stored procedures and T-SQL code, and so on.

The environment is MS
Windows, and candidate must work well with Microsoft Outlook and Windows
editing tools, file systems, and networks.

Desired skills:
Candidate should have:
  * at least two years of database or data interface
programming experience, with at least one year of SQL;
  * two to four
years of experience with Perl, preferably in data-oriented applications;
 
* at least two years of using Microsoft Excel;
  * knowledge of version
control practices; preferably git;
  * knowledge of unit testing practices.

Desired traits include:
  * experience parsing and transforming text data
(e.g. CSV);
  * other high-level language experience, e.g. VB, C#, C, etc.;
  * Javascript / AJAX / JSON.

The candidate must also have the ability to
pay close attention to detail; be unsatisfied with errors or discrepancies
in raw data, and work to resolve them; be dependable; meet deadlines
committed to; work in a professional corporate environment and present self
in a professional manner.
