Posted: October 20, 2017 Job title: Software Developer – Java and Scripting Languages Company name: CAS Location: Columbus, OH Terms of employment: Salaried employee Hours: Full time Onsite: yes Description: Work as a member of the e-Content Operations Technical Team to develop and maintain systems supporting the acquisition and processing of global STEM content. Develop systems and tools to enable processing, tracking, delivery, and reporting of diverse data streams to support CAS database building. Work closely with business experts and system users to assist the team in identifying opportunities to add greater value to CAS internal processes. Desired skills: Bachelor’s degree in Information Management or Computer Science, or a Bachelor’s degree with verifiable programming training. Minimum three years programming experience; Java development and scripting language experience is required, Perl development experience is strongly desired. The following are desired: - Demonstrated expertise in content extraction and transformation. - Experience working with scientific, technical or patent electronic content. - Knowledge of JATS, ST.36, or ST.96. Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information with peers and with non-technical staff, business experts and management. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Access, SharePoint, and related products. Planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to establish clear directions and set goals related to assigned projects. Attention to detail.
