Description:
Data Foundry is looking for a senior-level software developer experienced
in Perl, used with Apache and MySQL. This position is with one of the most
important teams in our company: our Platform team that supports our billing
and service management system. This team provides enhancements and
integrations serving our customers as well as our Sales, Billing, and Data
Center Operations teams.

We don’t care if you have a college degree or if
you are located in Austin, remote is ok for the right person. You must be
able to show senior-level proficiency in Perl as well as critical thinking
skills regarding software designs and development process. Our Platform
team is small, so your feedback will influence a lot of decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Translate new feature requirements into
conceptual and detailed technical designs
Estimate development effort for
feature designs
Implement new feature designs and assist with testing
Troubleshoot and resolve problems
Mentor other developers through code
review and direction

Desired skills:
Technical Requirements

Perl – senior-level experience
Apache –
configuration and relationship to web applications
MySQL – database
querying and updates, including SQL joins and basic query optimization
Linux –command line environment and tools
Technical Desirables
Git
–branching and merging
mod_perl – basic handler structure and CGI scripting
pitfalls
HTML::Mason – component best practices
API design – conceptual
understanding of REST and GraphQL
