Job title: Developer

Company name: Ingo Lantschner

Location: Vienna, Austria

Pay rate: 60€/h

Terms of employment: Independent contractor (project-based)

Hours: Flexible

Onsite: no

Description:
Perl Developer for Monitoring Plugins (Nagios-compatible system monitoring
plugins). Presently we develop such plugins to monitor NetApp storage
devices and webservers/-applications. The latter is the newer product where
we need the most manpower during the next month.

How do we organize?
Issues in a Gitlab define the requirements. Once you have accepted an issue
with due-date and estimated effort you are the responsible person for that
issue. Do not expect to be reminded by someone else. This means in return
that you are free to accept or decline every issue, estimated effort or
due-date. You decide but you are fully responsible to meet your goals.

Desired skills:
Proven Perl experience

Experience with Nagios compatible system-monitoring
(Icinga, op5, ...) will help you a lot but is not a strict requirement.

Given the webserver-check beeing the main focus within the next month
web-scrapping (headless browsers, Javascript) should be on the list of your
your core-competences.

Testdriven development - you must know how to use
prove, Test::More, ...

Also needed: git basics, basic UNIX know-how and
system-administration skills.

Language: We'll try to do most in English
but their is still a bunch of documentation in German.

Softskills: You
should be able to estimate the effort of a task, set reasonable due-dates
and be able to meet your goals. Deviations from the plan should be actively
communicated as soon as possible (and never afterwards). In other words: I
am looking for well organized people.
