Description:
This is a 1-2 year remote contract opportunity with the possibility of
being converted to a full-time employee. 

• 6+ years of experience
•
Working on a variety of fantasy sports products written in Perl – trying to
convert to the cloud (specifically AWS)
• They want to get rid of
dependencies on the data center – started making transitions to newer
technologies. Figuring out what kind of data source to use. Started looking
at the cloud a little closer so now they are learning more about it and
doing prototyping so their code can run in the cloud.
• Using Docker
(docker containers)
• They have 5 people working on this now. Problem is
they are also supporting the current product which includes enhancements,
etc. so they are trying to do too much at once.
• Must have OO Pearl
skills. MySQL/MongoDB is secondary – we are still deciding what storage
types to use so that’s a nice to have.

Desired skills:
• Understanding of Perl, Fantasy sports
• Object Oriented Perl
• Has
experience with design patterns other than MVC
