The ideal candidate is a qualified Information Technologist professional who truly enjoys the challenge of working in a rapidly growing, complex high technology environment and believes there are numerous opportunities to leverage the companys IT assets as a competitive advantage. Specific Opportunities and Responsibilities: Expand and maintain the existing network of Linux and Windows workstations and servers for the companys design and support engineers and support personnel. Assume that your time spent on Linux and Windows issues will be about 75% and 25% respectively. Be the primary contact for supporting the hardware needs for the companys engineering design and support personnel. Configure and maintain local and wide area networks including firewall maintenance. Be the point person for making any changes and updates to the company website. Maintain up to date system backups. Maintain documentation on network configurations and set-ups. Required skills: Expereince creating and maintaining Perl, unix scripts. Hands-on experience administering network of Linux clients and servers as well as Windows-based PCs is required. Experience installing and maintaining PC hardware (assembly and debug), RAID systems, and networking equipment are essential. Familiarity with the following protocols, services and applications: dns, dhcp, nfs, nis, samba, vpn, vnc. Familiarity with Window XP and Red Hat Linux operating system installation and maintenance is essential. Desired skills: Exchange server experience is highly desirable.
