Posted: August 15, 2006 Job title: Perl Developer Company name: Onward Technologies Internal ID: [email protected] Location: United States, WI, Madison Pay rate: $60,000 - $65,000 PA Travel: 0% Terms of employment: Salaried employee Length of employment: one year - extendable Hours: Full time Onsite: yes Description: Position Description: The right candidate will work closely with project teams to understand their requirements for deployment of their test code through our application development life cycle. The role may include analysis, coding, support, testing, documenting, installation, etc. at the direction of the Project Manager. Maintain and customize automated deployment scripts as needed. Scripts are written primarily in PERL, utilize JACL for some functionality, utilize the PERL DBI module and SQL to do some error checking and formatting, and interact with Websphere Deployment Manager. Required skills: 1. Script writing experience essential - Perl, ANT and OpenMake scripting language experience. (Perl is required; ANT is beneficial). 2. XML experience; experience working with deployment of xml type files. 3. Versioning Tool experience- Experience with CVS and CA-Harvest preferred; administrative experience not essential but beneficial 4. Build scripting experience is very beneficial 5. Linux and UNIX experience. 6. CVS - Concurrent Versioning System 7. Methodical research skills 8. Self-starter with good work ethic 9. Accuracy is important 10. Team Player who works well with others 11. Excellent communication & documentation skills 12. Candidates involved with architecting open systems Application Lifecycle Management systems (especially Harvest) are highly desired. Desired skills: 1. Recording and tracking defects 2. Insurance background a plus 3. Database experience (DB2, Oracle) helpful 4. ANT Scripting 5. CCC Harvest 6. Change Management 7. Harvest 8. Java Script 9. JUnit 10.
