Posted: August 16, 2006 Job title: Perl/Linux Developer Company name: Accenture Canada Location: Canada, Ontario, Mississauga Pay rate: 65-75K (CDN Dollars) Travel: 0% Terms of employment: Salaried employee Hours: Full time Onsite: yes Description: Role & Responsibilities: Looking for programmer/developer with minimum of 5 years experience working in the financial IT community. Individual must be proficient in Perl and all programming aspects related to the Unix or Linux development environments. Individual should also have working experience in RDBMS, specifically Sybase ASE v12. Individual must be self-starter, good communicator, and able to work within a large team. Individual must also possess strong analytical skills. The role is in the Regulatory IT group to help design and build a new system in support of firmwide Basel II/Consolidated Supervised Entity changes. Individual will be responsible for design and implementation of critical processes that handle the scheduling, movement, transformation of data in a multi-host parallel environment. Will work closely with other team members responsible for separate components in other technologies (C#/.NET, Ab Initio, etc) as well as with the Controller user community. Required skills: Skills Required: Perl scripting language on the UNIX or Linux platforms Software design experience on the UNIX or Linux platforms In-depth knowledge of UNIX/Linux environment Working knowledge of SQL and Sybase environment Desired skills: Nice to have skills: knowledge in the Financial data arena (risk, market and trade data) Knowledge of Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) concepts and tools, such as Ab Initio or Informatica Past experience in handling of large volume of data Data Warehouse/Data Mart design experience Contact information at: http://jobs.perl.org/job/4519#contact
