Description:
Topix.net, the first major news site to enable local communities,
nationwide, to talk back to the news for every article aggregated from over
40,000 sources in mainstream news and the blogosphere, is looking for UI
engineers to help us build, maintain and improve the site. 

We’re working on solving problems related to crawling, geo-localization and
subject categorization of the news. Named entity disambiguation.
About-vs-mention discrimination. Heat and tone language detection.
Zero-configuration scalable crawling. All in-memory index serving.
On-the-fly category merging, clustering, de-duplication, and geo-spinning.
Auto-tuning bias weights in our robo-editor. 

We're funded by the 3 largest newspaper companies in the US.  There's no

Required skills:
Good Perl knowledge
Fluent in Template Toolkit, CSS, HTML, JavaScriptStrong coding skills
Able to work well with UI designers, engineers and product mgrs
Willing to do thorough testing of code before release
Self motivated
Has at least 4 or more years of coding experience.
