Description:
Our client, a very fast growing company, grew at an average of 71% a year
for the past 12 years, known for being very employee friendly, has a
full-time/permanent need for a Perl Developer.

Essential functions:
1. Conducts systems analysis research and design activities for improving
or enhancing system performance of inbound and outbound data file transfer
processes to meet client needs.
2. Provides detailed specifications in accordance with department
standards. 
3. Writes well-structured, easily maintained, efficiently operating program
code from moderate to high-level functional specifications for new and
existing programs. Identifies areas where additional definition is required
and obtains information.
4. Formulates test plans and test and debugs developed programs.
Participated in user acceptance testing.
5. Works directly with clients and business analysts to identify client
needs and alternative solutions.
6. Prepares estimates of work effort.
7. Reports status, activities and issues to project team leader in
accordance with department standards.
8. Prepares documentation of developed programs including program and
client documentation. Conducts client training, education and
presentations.
9. Provides technical guidance and support to less experienced programmers.

10. Maintains a professional and technical knowledge by attending
educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and
establishing personal networks.


Required skills:
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in computer science or related field.

Minimum 4 years programming or systems analysis experience.

1) Strong customer service abilities
2) High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
3) Well developed analytical and problem solving abilities.
4) Strong attention to detail.
5) Able to write reports, business correspondence.
6) Computer skills:  Perl, Systems Analysis, design and program development
skills.  J2EE and Swing experience a plus.
