You will need to be degree qualified and ideally come from a background in Unix/Linux software engineering. It is essential that you have a minimum of 2 years experience within a Perl commercial environment. As a Perl Software Engineer you must come from a Unix or Linux background, have an extensive knowledge of Internet technologies and relational databases. Currently the company operates on MySQL and Oracle database. Aside from the technical requirements, candidates must have a forward thinking approach and be able to work to tight deadlines. This is very much a hands on role in a fast paced environment, where you will be involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle. Also the company offer excellent progression and training opportunities. The successful candidate will have a significant training budget and promotion is very much based on performance not time served.
