Summary:
The Claria Engineering Team is seeking a high caliber engineer to build the
backend and server side systems that power our PersonalWeb Home page
technology. PersonalWeb is a home page that automatically tailors its
content to the interests of the user. Our environment is fast-paced, we
build superior technology, we are very successful and we have a lot of fun.


Position Description 
Work with other members of a small technical team to design, implement,
maintain, and scale server-side software applications, middleware, and
custom data storage/retrieval engines. 
Actively participate in the requirements definition, feasibility, and
ongoing troubleshooting/support phases of the product lifecycle. 
Implement automated unit tests, debugging/QA frameworks and test tools,
development and release tools and build packages (e.g. debs, rpms) of
custom software. 


Required skills:
Requirements:
BS in CS or equivalent 
Excellent English language skills (spoken and written) 
Complete understanding of the software development lifecycle 
Extensive experience developing Apache/mod-perl applications on Linux or
Unix 
Working knowledge of basic internet protocols (HTTP, FTP, SMTP, DNS, etc.) 

Basic working knowledge of SQL 
Excellent skills in at least one of the following: C, C++, Java, Python 
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript 
Experience using CVS, Subversion, or equivalent for source code management 

Desired skills:
Desired Skills:
Experience developing applications based on mySQL/Oracle/MS SQL a plus
Experience with Debian Linux
