We're the largest online baby scrapbooking site on the web. We are a small startup, so projects may range from backend database design and optimization to front-end HTML templating work to client side AJAX work. Additionally, we're looking for someone who can work well independently and with minimal oversight. This position is part-time or project-by-project basis with the possibility of moving to full-time. We've got tons of projects lined up, so if you find these projects interesting, we can easily provide lots of work. Therefore, we are interested in developing an ongoing relationship with one or more developers. We use modperl exclusively, in a pure LAMP(erl) environment. If you like working with open source tools, are handy with modperl, and have good design skills, we're looking for you. You will be responsible for the following: - Design, implement, and maintain object oriented Perl code. - Write clean, readable, well-commented, well-documented, modular, extensible, reusable, and high-performance code. We're located in Los Angeles, and prefer local developers, but telecommuting is also accepted. Required skills: - 2-4 years paid experience as modperl developer. - Perl/mod_perl, Apache, and UNIX/Linux skills. - Experience in Perl DBI, XML, and other Perl modules. - Experience with wide variety of CPAN modules - Strong MySQL experience - Quick learner, self starter, self motivated. - Ability to function in fast-paced, dynamic, entreprenurial environment. - Effective communication skills (written and oral), and strong interpersonal skills.
