Description:
At Abt Associates, you will have the opportunity to contribute to emerging
environmental policy research and program support, develop your analytical
and programming skills, and be challenged by your colleagues and work. Abt
Associates is seeking staff who have quantitative skills, programming
skills, science background, and are proven to be good creative thinkers and
good writers.  

The ideal candidate would have a diverse knowledge base, with background in
database design/analysis and computer programming, as well as experience or
interest in environmental policy.  A successful candidate will be an active
part of an experienced, multi-disciplinary (and fun!) team working for U.S.
EPA clients. Duties may include accessing EPA regulatory databases and
non-EPA databases; using statistical software and database software to
analyze data and profile specific industries, facilities, and geographic
regions; analyzing trends; documenting methodology; writing text reports;
and generating tables, maps, and charts to convey results.

Requirements: B.S. in environmental engineering, environmental sciences,
computer sciences, math or engineering. Ability to write well. 

We are looking for candidates with experience in one or more of the
following: web programming (Perl/HTML/JavaScript/PHP), database design,
database access, statistical packages (e.g., SAS), and spreadsheet design. 
Knowledge of EPA regulations, and environmental issues is a plus.
